Dipping our toes into Outdoor Skills!

Join Volunteer Outdoor Skill Experts for a weekend of learning and practicing Outdoor Skills! We look forward to meeting Girl Scouts right where they are in a positive, fun, and experiential learning environment.

This is a TROOP Event, with the Adult:Girl Scout Ratio, one of whom has completed Indoor Overnight (available on GSLearn).

Skillettes is offering 2 dates and locations:

Friday, Saturday, Sunday
October 20-21-22, 2023 - Camp Evergreen - Longview, WA

November 3, 4, 5, 2023 - Camp River Ranch - Carnation, WA

Troop Participants:

Girl Scout Youth: $65 ($68 via Square)
Girl Scout Adult: $35 ($37 via Square)

Station Volunteers (Adult or Youth):

Spending the Weekend: $20 ($21 via Square)
Saturday DAY ONLY: Free

Accepted Form of Payment: Check, Square, Cookie Dough, and Financial Assistance

GIRL SCOUTS ELIGIBLE TO ATTEND: This event is designed with all Brownies & 1st year Juniors in mind, however, we welcome 2nd Year Daisies through Cadettes for whom this is appropriate. This event is for beginners, please use your best judgement when registering your Troop Members.

Is this event right for my troop? Skillettes is a stepping stone on the progression from indoor overnights to outdoor adventurers. Troop participants will sleep indoors (in Troop houses at River Ranch, or the Lodge at Evergreen). Learning happens in outdoor program shelters. The following meals are included: Friday dessert, Saturday breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner & dessert, Sunday breakfast.

Registration Details

REGISTRATION PROCESS:

Complete the Registration Form. Google Forms will send you a copy of your answers as your primary confirmation.
You will receive a SECOND - TROOP PARTICIPATION CONFIRMATION LETTER via email within 14 days from gswwjuniorskills@gmail.com confirming your participation and with instructions for payment.
Once you have received the TROOP PARTICIPATION CONFIRMATION LETTER via email, the troop has 7 days to complete payment via check, Square Invoice (with fees), and Cookie Dough.
- Financial Assistance Eligibility Submissions may be delayed until October 1.
Registration is NOT complete until payment is made and our Volunteer Staff has received confirmation of payment, Financial Assistance application, or Cookie Dough submission.

REFUND & TRANSFER POLICY: Registration Fees for Skillettes are not refundable. In the case of medical (COVID) reasons, we will do our best to refund what hasn't already been spent. Refunds may take 4-6 weeks to process after the event completes.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE:

Camp Evergreen & Camp River Ranch: Sunday, September 24th - OR when spots fill.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE DEADLINE:

This camp happens during the transition of the new Financial Assistance Year.
Please complete the FA Eligibility Form on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2023 for EACH ELIGIBLE Girl Scout Youth and Adult, when the new form is anticipated to open.
